I think spitting on a white t-shirt and spilling food on it at various occasions would be the worst way.

Any time I get bleach on one of my black t-shirts at work, I twist them up, pour bleach on them, then rinse super fast for some sweet sweet bleach tie dye.

I should be clear that I put on a different shirt before I do the tie dye
